The Prototype of the Exoskeleton ReLive Startup Team with the Support of NURIS Became a Grant Winner
Nazarbayev University Technopark Residents have developed an innovative solution for the rehabilitation of patients after a stroke. With the support of NURIS, the ReLive start-up team won the grant program "Consortia of Inclusive Innovations". Robotic exoskeleton created to complement the physical capabilities of users. Neurorehabilitation robotic platform based on artificial intelligence will allow patients after a stroke to get back on their feet.
ReLive - an innovative solution for the rehabilitation of patients after a stroke, includes equipment and software for reading and recognizing brain signals, a microcontroller and an exoskeleton of the upper extremities. The system allows to mentally manage the exoskeleton (artificial limbs), which allows to speed up the recovery process of patients. Currently, the prototype has passed preliminary verification work and is fully functioning.
The company consists of Nazarbayev University researchers and graduates, with extensive experience in the field of robotics, machine learning and artificial intelligence. The mission of the company is to expand the functions of a neuro-rehabilitation robotic platform with the help of artificial intelligence.
It should be noted that on March 7-8, 2019, a team of scientists led by Professor of the Nazarbayev University School of Engineering Prashant Jamwal and Beybit Abdikenov successfully performed at a special exhibition under the auspices of the UN «Assistive Technology in Accelerating Learning and Participation of Children with Disabilities» in Geneva (Switzerland). Also on December 23, 2018, during a meeting with young scientists, a participant reported on a project, Beibyt Abdikenov, presented the exoskeleton to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The United Nations (UN) officially recognized the medical invention, developed by scientists from Nazarbayev University, among the top 20 innovative solutions in the world.
The ReLive team is not complacent. The company's research team has already developed rehabilitation robots for walking, ankle and upper limb.
